

He was born August 19, 1929 in Roane County and was a son of Charles and Matilda Hill Sr. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by sisters, Josephine Hill and Becca Geiger and brother, Joseph “Bill”.
Charlie was a member of Twin City Bible Church, Nitro where he had served as an elder, deacon, treasurer and presently as an usher. He was a U. S. Army veteran of the Korean War, serving twenty-six months overseas. He was a member of the American Legion Post 73, St. Albans. Charlie was retired from Union Carbide-Rhone Poulenc after thirty-seven years serving as complex administrator. He was also retired from the U. S. Commerce Census Bureau after 10 years of service.
He is survived by his loving wife, Betty, of 60 years; son, Keith of St. Albans; daughter, Kimberly Skinner and her husband, Bob of Ridgeway, VA; two grandchildren, Cody and Nicholas Lopez of Blacksburg, VA.
A celebration of Charlie’s life will be 12:00 p.m., Saturday, March 17, 2018 at Twin City Bible Church, Nitro with Pastor Scott Bandy officiating.
A gathering of family and friends will be from 10:00 a.m. until service time Saturday at the church. A private family burial will take place at a later date.
