

Charles Edward Kersey, 81, born September 13, 1940, from Cross Lanes West Virginia. He went Home to be with the Lord in the early morning hours of December 14, 2023, peacefully in his sleep at his loving daughter’s home in Brandenburg, Kentucky. He was the son of Edward “Lewis” Kersey and Freda “Phyllis” (Shaffer) Collins. He was a native from Sissonville and resided in Cross Lanes for 31 years.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his grandparents, his sister Helen Fields, and most importantly, his son whom he missed and loved so much, Charles L. Kersey. He is survived by his daughter, Lois “Jeannie” Moody, his stepson James R. Edwards, his stepdaughter Debbie A. Marr, 4 grandchildren; Jamie (Moody) Clevenger, Christopher Moody, Chelsea Moody, and Chris Bostic; 6 great grandchildren; Amelia Clevenger, Miranda Clevenger, Shayla Banks, Brittany Moody, David Moody and Devin Moody and one great-great granddaughter, Cadence Moody and special friend Charlotte.
Charlie enjoyed listening music, to the Bible, and more so, his favorite preacher, John Hagee. He loved his dog, Rosie, RC soda, bacon cheeseburgers and being with his best friends, Jerry and Reva Meadows. He loved his family deeply and loved the Lord deeper.
Celebration of Charles’s life will be 1:00 P.M. Tuesday, December 19, 2023 at Tyler Mt. Funeral Home with Celebrant HR Whittington presiding. Burial will follow in Tyler Mt. Memory Gardens, Cross Lanes.
Gathering of family and friends will be from noon until time of service at the funeral home.
