David E. Deane Jr., lovingly known to many as “Dizzy,” passed away peacefully on April 28, 2026. A proud veteran of the United States Air Force, David lived a life marked by strength, loyalty, humor, and a passion for speed.
David was an avid drag racer whose love for the track earned him recognition as a member of the Drag Racing Hall of Fame. Whether in the garage, at the races, or spending time with family, he left a lasting impression on everyone who knew him.
He was preceded in death by his beloved spouse, Diana Lynn Deane, and his parents, David and Madalyn Deane.
David is survived by his daughter, Robin Deane; grandchildren, Leah Stalnaker and Dena Taublib; as well as great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and many extended family members and friends who loved him dearly.
To be absent from the body is to be present with The Lord. Daddy and Papaw, we will miss you and will see you on the other side.
A celebration of Dizzy’s life will take place at 12:00 PM Saturday May 2, 2026 at Tyler Mt. Funeral Home in Cross Lanes, WV. Gathering of family and friends will be from 11:00 AM until the time of service.
