

He was a graduate of Dunbar High School, attended Brigham Young University, was a veteran of the United States Air Force and retired from a 25 career with the United States Department of Agriculture in West Palm Beach, Florida.
Dave never met a stranger and never missed an opportunity to tell a joke or a funny story to make someone laugh. He was an avid reader and enjoyed writing, photography and music. A lifelong sports lover and athlete, he helped his high school basketball team win the State Championship, competed in dozens of marathons and triathlons (including the Ironman Triathlon in Hawaii) and, later in life, could be found on a golf course or golf range if he wasn't with his wife and best friend who from he was otherwise inseparable.
Those who knew Dave will remember him for his kindness, compassionate heart and his special gift of making others smile and laugh.He will also be remembered for his love of animals and nature. He supported a number of animal welfare organizations and home was always filled with a menagerie of rescued pets.
He is preceded in death by his loving wife of 55 years, Pamela Lynn Myers, his mother Elizabeth Mae Harlan and his father Denver Myers.
He is survived by his daughter Andrea Myers of St Albans, WV, cousin Karen Morris (Skip Morris) of Port St Lucie, FL, cousin Brian Cablish of Melbourne, FL and cousin Johnny Sayre (Lori Sayre) of Quick, WV.
