

Foster Burdette, 78, of Kenna WV, passed away on Wednesday, December 30th at Edgewood Summit after a long fight with Parkinson’s Disease. Foster was born on October 6, 1937 and was the son of the late Otie and Biddie Burdette. Foster was preceded in death by his brothers Harold, Leftridge “Lefty”, and Hank Burdette and Wendell Reynolds and his sisters Marjorie Hinzman and Emogene Kidd. Foster is survived by his wife Carolyn of Cross Lanes; son, Jon Burdette and wife Melanie of Cross Lanes and daughter Jennifer Clay and husband Russel Clay of Holly Ridge, NC; sister Freeda Larch of Cross Lanes. Foster is also survived by his three grandchildren: Hunter Burdette and Taylor Burdette of Cross Lanes and Kendall Clay of Holly Ridge, NC. Foster Burdette was the founder of Burdette Realty Improvement, Inc. which was established in June of 1967 and is located in Cross Lanes, WV. There, Foster served as President and Broker for over 40 years building the company into the thriving business it is today. He was also an avid pilot for most of his life and liked his motorcycles and hunting. Visitation will be from 6-8 PM on Sunday January 3rd and the funeral will be the following day on Monday, January 4th at Noon. Both services will be held at the Tyler Mountain Funeral Home in Cross Lanes, WV. The family wants to put out a special thanks to Carolyn Allen and her girls for all the help they provided to Foster after moving back to his home in Jackson County in 2013, as well as much appreciated thanks to the staff & management of Arthur B. Hodges at Edgewood Summit. You were both a blessing in a time of need. The family would also like to thank Hospice for their excellent care.
