He was born March 2, 1948 in Charleston, the son of Evelyn Johnson Humphreys and the late William Humphreys.
Fred was a 1966 graduate of St. Albans High School. He was formerly employed with Denny Hill Construction & Co. and later retired as Equipment Superintendent for the State of WV.
He loved the outdoors, was a muscle car enthusiast and loved drag racing. A loving son, brother, uncle and friend that will be missed by all.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his brother, Bill Humphreys (Pat), of Dunbar, sister, Cheryl Phelps (George), of St. Albans, companion, Letha Lamb, nieces and nephews, Jeana, Jenny, John, Mindy, Matt, Stephen, and Patrick, and great nephew, Henry.
Graveside Service will be 11:00 A.M. Thursday, January 13, 2022 at Cunningham Memorial Park Upper Mausoleum, St. Albans with Celebrant HR Whittington presiding.
Following the service there will be a gathering and time of remembrance at Casdorph & Curry Funeral Home Banquet room.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital or Kanawha-Charleston Humane Society.
