

Ivydale Catherine Elswick White, 89, of Scott Depot, passed away November 14, 2016 at home surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Clay County on April 20, 1927 to Ernest and Melina Cook Mathews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by husbands, Roy D. Elswick, Sr. and Rev. Delmar White; brothers, Ernest Mathews, Jr. and Jimmy Mathews; daughters, Helen Ruth Elswick, Louella Boggess Holmes and Barbara Hanshaw; and grandchildren, Jerry Boggess, Jr. and Timmy Boggess. Ivydale was a former employee of CAMC. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church, Teays Valley for over 40 years. She was best known for her role as a loving mother and grandmother and will be missed by all who knew her. Left to cherish her memory is her children, Gloria Crouch, Roy Elswick, Jr. and Rocky (LouAnn) Elswick; stepson, D. K. White; grandchildren, Sandy (Keith) Parsons, Diana (Doug) Hall, Harvey (Cheryl) Hanshaw, Jr., Tony (Denise) Hanshaw, Bryan (Tonya) Stover, Tina (Charlie) Heffner, Joe (Debbie) Crouch, Ron Elswick and companion, Donna, Renay Scott, Tonya Slate, Cathy (Jeff) Elswick-Barr, Robby (Delores) Elswick, Shannon (Johnnie) Baldwin, Tommy (Sara) Parsons, Jr., Tracy (Linda) White, Jeremy White and Amber White; 35 great-grandchildren; 11 great-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. There will be celebration of Ivydale’s life 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, November 16, 2016 at Casdorph & Curry Funeral Home, 110 B Street, St. Albans with Pastor Pete Thompson. officiating. Burial will follow in Cunningham Memorial Park, St. Albans. There will be a gathering of family and friends from 11:30 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
