He was born November 8, 1946 in South Charleston, the son of James Hansford and Justine Rogers Ellison. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brother, David Paul Ellison.
James earned his BA Degree in Business from WV State. He retired from Union Carbide and was a US Air Force Veteran. James was also a member of King’s River Worship Center for 45 years and a member of the Collis P. Huntington Railroad Society.
He is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Irma Louise Ellison, daughter, Michelle Marie Ellison of Nitro, and son, James Michael Ellison of St Albans, granddaughters, Makinzee Brooke Ellison, and Zoee Rayann Landis, both of St Albans, and a host of friends.
Celebration of James’s life will be 6:00 P.M. Friday, August 2, 2024 at King’s River Worship Center with Pastor Chris Kimbro officiating. Military Rites will be conducted by St Albans VFW Post 6418 and American Legion Post 73.
Gathering of family and friends will be from 5 until time of service at the church.
