Joyce Roberts Burdette

Joyce Roberts Burdette, of St. Albans, went home to be the Lord after a short illness. She was born September 12, 1941 in Charleston the daughter of the late Arnold and Ruth Roberts. She was actively involved in her church community and was retired from the Department of Highways. Joyce was a life-long resident of St. Albans, WV and a graduate of St. Albans High School, class of 1958. She is survived by her loving husband of 31 years, Roger Burdette, and her three children, Tim Mooney (Jamie Mooney) of Elkview, WV, Lisa Charlton (Bill Charlton) of Norfolk, VA and Cara McWhorter (Jim McWhorter) of St. Albans, WV. She is also survived by her three step-daughters, Deanna Priddy, Kathy Rhodes and Melissa Brode, 22 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, sister, Ruth Hatfield (Herb) of Aberdeen, MS, Joan Harless (Ernie) of St. Albans, WV, David Roberts (Pat) of St. Albans, WV, Paul Roberts of St. Albans, WV. Celebration of Joyce’s life will be 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, March 28, 2017 at Casdorph & Curry Funeral Home with Dr. James Wright, Jr. Burial will follow in Glendale Cemetery, South Charleston. Gathering of family and friends will be Monday from 6 to 8 at the funeral home. Joyce’s favorite color was blue. Please feel free and honoring her by wearing blue and that includes denim.
