J'Shawn Dujuan Allen

J'shawn DaJuan Allen was born in Charleston, WV on July 20, 2010 to Jeffrey Allen and Taneka Brown. God called him home on Saturday, March 4, 2023. He was currently in the 7th grade at Horace Mann Middle School.

Jay loved football and had been playing since the age of 5. He played on "The Hill" for the Patriots, in the "Bottom" for the Dunbar Bullpups and on the "West Side" for the Charleston Cougars. In 2019, he made 1st team all conference for the Bullpups and received many other awards academically and in sports.

Jay liked talking trash with his friends and cousins while playing his favorite video games. He loved traveling to Detroit with his dad to visit his family, he loved helping his dad with their dogs and he always helped others with anything that he could.

Every room Jay entered he lit it up with his bright smile and big personality. His raspy laugh was infectious. He had a sweet heart and beautiful soul and everyone loved him dearly.

J'Shawn's memory will be cherished by his parents Jeffrey Allen (Penny Foster) and Taneka Brown; his brothers Elishua Brown, Amari Brown, John Clemons, Jaimelle Claytor and Malachi Allen; maternal grandmother Alberta Brown; paternal grandmother Sheila Allen; three aunts Tracy Allen, Duwana Allen, Durina Allen and a hosts of cousins and friends.

There was much more to him than these words that are written: he was our baby boy, our bro, our lil cuz and our amazing friend. He was our beloved Jay.
