Justin Allen Tucker

Justin Allen Tucker, 31, of Florence, formally of Flemings-burg, passed away Tuesday July 26, 2016, unexpectedly at his home.Justin was born January 28, 1985, in Charleston, to Gregory and Lenora Slater Tucker.Justin has proudly served his country in the KY National Guard since 2003 attaining the rank of Staff Sargent. He served 2 tours in Operation Iraqi Freedom, supporting the freedom of our nation and many others. Justin was a Kentucky Colonel and had been awarded NCO of the year in 2014. Justin was a 2003 graduate of Fleming County High School and had attended Morehead State and Northern KY University. Justin was an avid outdoorsman and hunter and he also loved sports. Justin attended Seven Hills Church and worked for Bullet Line Inc. in Florence.Justin is survived by his parents, Greg and Lenora; brother, Eric (Soleil) Tucker of Japan; grandmother, Joyce Ann (Eugene) Fowler; aunts, Gloria (Jim) Lawrence, Della Marie Wilson and Ruth Ann Slater; uncles, Johnnie Francis Tucker Jr., Mike (Barbara) Tucker, Thomas Anthony (Linda) and William F. Slater Jr.; and a host of extended family members and friends.Justin was preceded in death by his grandparents, William F. Slater Sr., Johnnie Francis Tucker and Margaret Jane Tucker; uncle, Donald Lee Tucker.Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Monday, August 1, at Tyler Mountain Funeral Home in Cross Lanes, WV with Rev. Roy E. Hamilton officiating. Burial will follow in Tyler Mountain Memory Gardens with full military honors provided by the National Guard.Visitation will be 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Boone – Nickell Funeral Home in Flemingsburg, KY and 1 to 2 p.m. Monday at Tyler Mountain Funeral Home in Cross Lanes, WV.Boone – Nickell Funeral Home is caring for all arrangements for the Tucker family.
