She was born February 3, 1957 in Charleston, the daughter of Roscoe and Dorcas Proffitt. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her son, Jason, and sister, Julie Walker.
Karen was retired from Suddenlink Communications with over 35 years of service. She was an active member of Bethany Baptist Church where she served in many roles. A loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend that will be missed by all who knew her.
She is survived by her loving husband of 49 years, Roger, son, Brian Tolley, grandchildren, Austin Shamblin, Alyssa , Makyna Tolley, and Zoe Tolley, Zachary Gray, Peyton Tolley, and Karlea Gray, great grandchildren, Sawyer Shamblin, Morgan and Elliana.
Celebration of Karen’s life will be 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, August 23, 2023 at Tyler Mt. Funeral Home with Pastor Rodney Smith officiating. Burial will follow in Tyler Mt. Memory Gardens, Cross Lanes.
Gathering of family and friends will be from noon until time of service at the funeral home.
