Born in Charleston WV on January 30, 1946, she was the cherished daughter of William and Jewel Webb Summerfield. She grew up with a fierce love the South Charleston Eagle Marching band where she served as Head Majorette. She went on to build a life defined by her warmth, her quiet strength, and her boundless capacity to care for others. Whether she was building a career or caring for her family she approached every day with grace, fierce loyalty, and an open heart. She was the anchor for her family and the first to offer a listening ear, wise advice, or a comforting embrace.
Above all, Linda was a devoted mother. Her greatest pride and joy were her family, and she leaves behind a legacy of unconditional love, resilience, and unity. She showed us how to love with all our hearts.
She was preceded in death by both of her parents, brother Larry Summerfield and wife Judy of Charleston, and her son Donald Lee Casto Jr.
She is survived by both Daughters, Sarah Criner (Michael), of Sissonville, and Dawna Lyons (Jason), of Cottageville, as well as her 2 beloved granddaughters Kaylen and Ella Criner. Her sister Trena McKinney and family, and her nephew Randy Summerfield.
A Celebration of Linda’s Life will be held 2:00 P.M. Sunday, May 31, 2026, at Tyler Mt. Funeral Home, Cross Lanes.
Gathering of family and friends will be from noon until time of service at the funeral home.
All who knew and loved Linda are welcome to attend and share their favorite memories of her.
She was a guiding light in our lives, and though she is no longer with us, her love remains a compass that will guide us always. Rest in peace, Mom.
