Lora Lee Williamson

Lora “Susie” Lee Williamson, 66, of Alderson, WV went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, January 17, 2017 surrounded by her loving husband and children. She fought a courageous battle with cancer but passed from a sudden illness. Lora was a loving wife, mother and friend. Her loving husband, Kevin, survives her as well as her three children, James (Wendy) of St. Albans, Sylvia of Cross Lanes and Matthew (Faye) of Charleston. Her grandchildren, whom she loved dearly, also survive her, Katelyn, Nathanael, Makenzie, Noah, Isaac and Colby. She also had one great-granddaughter whom she cherished, Izabella. Lora also leaves behind Butch (Ethel), Dickie, Doug, Benny (Dawn), May and Jackie as her beloved brothers and sisters. She also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews whom she loved. Lora served in the United States Army until she was honorably discharged to have her first child. She was a homemaker most of her life where she was able to instill determination, will and independence to her children. Her parents, Eleanor and Freeman, both of St. Albans preceded Lora in death. There will be no funeral services (per her wishes) and there will be a small private graveside service. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Emily Couric Cancer Center, University of Virginia, 1240 Lee Street, Charlottesville, VA 22903.
