She was born October 28, 1927 in Charleston, the daughter of Rola and Hazel McClanahan. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband of 67 years Othel Thomas, and daughter Diane Wilson.
She is survived by her daughter Kathy Hale, sons, John Sampson, Paul Thomas and Terry Thomas, many grandchildren and several great grandchildren.
