He was born September 2, 1954 in Huntington, WV a son of the late Hezza and Marceline Adkins Johnson. He was a loving husband, father, brother, grandfather and friend. Philip was retired from United Parcel Service following 35 years of devoted service.
Philip is survived by his loving wife; Freda Rose Johnson, sons; Brandon Johnson of South Charleston, Josh Wood of Sparta, Tenn. And Luke Wood of Weaverville, NC., brother; Michael Johnson Buford, Ga, sisters; Debbie Davis of Griffin, Ga. Suella Tecco of Brighton, Mich. two grandchildren Sophia Wood of Sparta Tenn. and Nick Johnson of South Charleston and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted at Tyler Mountain Funeral Home July 2, 2014 at 12-Noon with Reverend John Sword officiating. Burial will follow in Tyler Mountain Memory Gardens.
Friends will be received at the funeral home Tuesday from 6 until 8:00 P.M
