Rick graduated from Nitro High School and was a 25-year resident of St. Albans. He was active in the Neighborhood Watch and was a regular at the City Council Meetings. He was an avid outdoorsman and spent a great deal of time camping, hiking, biking and kayaking in Pocahontas County and on the Greenbrier River Trail.
Rick is survived by his father, Dr. Robert K. of Cross Lanes; maternal grandmother, Barbara Randall of Cleveland, Ohio; aunts, Cathy Kelso (Steve) of Oak Park, Ill., and Ann Randall (John Luttermoser) of Cleveland, Ohio; sisters, April Queen and Eva Townson of Cross Lanes; brothers, Joshua Casto of Charleston; and several nieces and nephews.
Celebration of Rick's life will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, February 20, at Casdorph & Curry Funeral Home, with Minister Dr. J.F. Lacaria officiating. Burial will follow in Cunningham Memorial Park, St. Albans.
Gathering of family and friends will be Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
