

Robert K (Kayo) Marcum, 87, of Huntington, West Virginia, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 23, 2024. Bob was born on October 28, 1936 to Edith and Tusco Marcum and was the youngest of four siblings.
He graduated from Huntington High School and Marshall University. He received his master’s degree from Akron University.
Bob coached football at Canton McKinley High School in Canton, Ohio before beginning his distinguished career in college athletics. He served in the athletic departments of lowa State University, the University of Kansas, the University of South Carolina, the University of Massachusetts and Marshall University.
Bob was an avid golfer and played all over the United States and Europe before suffering a stroke in 2012.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Mari Lynn (1977) and his wife, Cecile Ann (1994). He is survived by his daughter, Diana Skogsbergh(Jim), three grandchildren, Kathryn, Megan and Robert and one great grandchild, James Robert.
Bob was laid to rest in a private ceremony on Friday, July 26th. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
Donations can be made to the American Lung Association or to Little Victories Animal Rescue in Barboursville, West Virginia.
