

Tommy Mason Stalnaker, 91, of Cross Lanes, departed his earthy life April 26, 2018 after a long illness. He was born in Charleston to the late Clyde Morgan Stalnaker and Lessie Viola Pauley Stalnaker.
He graduated from Nitro High School in 1947 after joining the United States Navy at the age of 17. He was a proud Veteran of World War II and plank owner serving on the USS Henry W. Tucker from 1944 to 1946. He loved hunting, fishing and cooking for many church functions at Dunbar Mountain Mission, where he was a member. He worked at the Daniel Boone Hotel and later retired form Union Carbide, South Charleston Plant.
He is preceded in death by his parents; 3 sisters, Reba Lipken, Ada Hacker and Dorothy Severinson; and a brother, John “Jack” Stalnaker.
He leaves behind his wife to whom he was married for 69 years, the love of his life, Doris Roach Stalnaker; 4 sons, Doug (Kathy) of Elkview, Bob (Susan) of Tampa, Florida, Roger of Glasgow, and David (Beverly) of Cross Lanes; grandchildren, Lahnna (Justin) Morton Of San Diego, California, Christy (Danny) Monaco of Tampa, Florida, Jeffrey Stalnaker of New York City, Bill Stalnaker of Cross Lanes, and Justin (Kimberly) Stalnaker of Norfolk, Virginia; great-grandchildren, Caity Adams of Tampa, Florida, Bella Monaco and Evie Monaco of Tampa, Florida and Sylus Stalnaker of Norfolk, Virginia; great-great-granddaughter, Mia Adams of Tampa, Florida; and several nieces and nephews.
Special thanks to nieces, Karlene Foster and Karen Stalnaker for the joy you gave him by spending time with him these last few years.
Visitation will be from 11:00am until Noon on Monday, April 30, 2018 at Tyler Mountain Funeral Home, 5233 Rocky Fork Road, Cross Lanes, WV 25313.
A private graveside service will be in Tyler Mountain Memory Gardens.
