William Arlie “Bill” Hall, 88, of St. Albans, West Virginia, passed away in the early morning hours of Wednesday, March 5, 2025. He was welcomed into Heaven by his beloved wife, Violet, the mother of his children Wanda Hall Graham, his parents Arlie and Nell Hall, his brother Robert “Bob” Hall, and a host of family and friends.
Born in Widen, West Virginia, Bill was a proud graduate of Washington Irvine High School in Clarksburg. After 35 years of dedicated service, Bill retired from the E.I. Dupont plant in Belle. He was an active member of the Poca River Hunting & Fishing Club, and for many years, played the role of Santa Claus at BWEAA events. Bill’s volunteer spirit was evident in his work helping to construct the North Charleston Baptist Church and his long-time service with Habitat for Humanity's Tuesday Crew. A faithful member of Mt. Tabor Church of God, Bill was committed to serving his community and living out his Christian faith.
Bill leaves behind his cherished children: Jenny Hall (Cathy) and Mike Hall (Cori); his grandchildren Susan Jarvis, Cassie Walker (Zach), and great-grandchildren Zoe Jarvis, Connor Jarvis, Reese Walker, sister-in-law Betty Hall and his nieces and nephews. He was also preceded in death by his daughters, Liz Halstead and Wanda Allen, as well as his son-in-law Randy Allen. Bill is survived by a loving extended family, including sons-in-law and daughters-in-law: Woodrow Haid (Jackie), Mike Burrows (Kelly), Debb Canterbury (Mark), Kathy Light (Keith), and son-in-law Chuck Halstead, along with numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren who will carry on his legacy.
Bill’s memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew him—a man who worked hard, loved deeply, and lived his faith every day. He will be greatly missed, but his family takes comfort knowing that he is now in the presence of the Lord, reunited with loved ones.
Celebration of Bill’s life will be 12:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 11, 2025 at Tyler Mt. Funeral Home with Pastor Mark Thaxton officiating. Burial will follow in Tyler Mt Memory Gardens, Cross Lanes.
Gathering of family and friends will be from 11 until time of service at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Habitat for Humanity, 301 Piedmont Road, Charleston, WV 25302, or to Mount Tabor Church of God, 2413 Dry Ridge Road, St Albans, WV 25177.
