Armand, a resident of Buchanan, was born May 23, 1948, to the late Armand V. “Jake” Dominello Sr. and the late Dorothy King Dominello. He was raised in Croton and was a graduate of Croton-Harmon High School.
He was drafted into the U.S. Army in May of 1969 and served until March 1971, and was a sentry dog handler in Vietnam.
On April 14, 1974, he married the love of his life, Ann Cichocki.
In addition to his wife, Armand is survived by three adored daughters: Amy and her fiancé Justin Braun, of Greensboro, N.C., Rebecca Haessler and her husband, Richard, of Voorheesville, N.Y.; and Katie and her boyfriend Brandon Parrott, of Hillsborough, N.C.
Armand worked for Con Edison for 33 years and retired in 2006 as a troubleshooter, a title that served him well as the father of three girls. He enjoyed his work at Con Ed and cherished the many friendships he made there. His work at Con Ed also honed his sarcastic wit, which forced friends and family to stay on their toes.
Armand was a social member of Washington Engine Company No. 2 in Croton. He loved to be outdoors and enjoyed kayaking, fishing, bicycling and hunting -- along with the occasional cold beer that came with it. He was happiest, though, when he was surrounded by his wife, girls and “sons.”
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, David.
He is also survived by two brothers, Edward and his wife, Adrienne “Timi,” of Edgewater, Fla., and Stephen, and his wife Anita, of Croton; two nieces, Dorothy Barringer of Kingston, and Samantha Dominello of Croton; a nephew, Jake Dominello of Croton; and many friends.
Visitation will be held at the EDWARD F. CARTER FUNERAL HOME, 41 Grand St., Croton, from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 12. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, Aug. 13, at 10 a.m. at St. Patrick’s Church in Verplanck. Burial will follow at Bethel Cemetery in Croton, NY.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that you donate blood to the American Red Cross in Armand’s memory. He received more than 100 blood transfusions during his brave battle against leukemia. Armand was touched that such a simple, selfless act helped extend his life and makes such a difference in many other lives. One place where you can donate blood in Armand’s memory is the New York Blood Center at 525 Executive Boulevard in Elmsford.
The family would also like to thank the nursing staff at Westchester Medical Center for the care and comfort Armand received while there.
