Noreen Ann Walsh, a lifelong resident of Croton-on-Hudson, NY, passed away on February 8, 2025. She was 76 years old. Noreen was born on September 2,1948 in Ossining, NY to the late Fred and Myrtle (Alford) Sorenson.
Noreen was a graduate of Croton Harmon High School and Westchester Community College with a degree in Accounting. She was an accomplished seamstress creating many wedding and prom dresses and custom clothes. She was a co-owner of Tiger Line Embroidery fabricating many customed embroidered designs. Noreen was a former member of the Croton Caring Committee, Croton Pointers and Croton Fire Department Radio Dispatchers. An avid lover of wild tigers she travelled across the country to see them.
She is survived by her husband, Edward, of 57 years. Sons, Edward Jr (Joi) of Naples, FL and Jonathan (Janai) of Naples, FL. Sisters Karen O’Riley, June Sorenson Jenney, and brother, Fred Sorenson. Grand children Jayde, Jeremy, Joshua, Tyler, Samantha, and Jace Walsh.
Visitation is scheduled on Tuesday, February 18th from 2-4 & 7-9 PM at Edward F. Carter Funeral Home, 41 Grand Street, Croton-on-Hudson, NY 10520. A Mass of Christian Burial is scheduled for Wednesday, February 19th at 10:00 AM at Holy Name of Mary Church, 114 Grand Street, Croton-on-Hudson, NY 10520. Interment to follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, 10 W Stevens Avenue, Hawthorne, NY 10532.
In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made in her honor to Muscular Dystrophy Association for Polymyositis research or World Wildlife Fund – Tigers.
