

Rosemarie Raffa, a Croton-on-Hudson resident for many years, died April 1, 2026, at age 74, following a long illness. At the time of her death, she was surrounded by her devoted family, especially her husband, well-known architectural photographer Philip Jensen-Carter. A loving mother and grandmother, she is also survived by her daughter Abbie Reba, her partner Vinny Marrone and grandson, Luca, and her younger daughter Emily Charde, her husband Apurv Charde, and grandsons Rohan and Nirvan.
Rosemarie, daughter of the late Joseph and Mildred (Olleia) Raffa, was born in The Bronx on August 14, 1951. Following her family’s move to Windmill Farm in Armonk, she graduated from Byram Hills High School and then received her degree in Sociology from Boston University.
After a variety of senior positions serving non-profit organizations both in the US and Europe, Rosemarie returned her attention to her education and received her BSN and Masters as a Family Nurse Practitioner, both degrees awarded by Pace University.
As a Nurse Practitioner, she served the Croton community as a member of a private medical practice, followed by a position with the Health Service Staff at Columbia University, and then for many years, served as an NP in the Oncology Department at Westchester Medical Center. In addition to her love of travel, Rosemarie enjoyed spending time hiking, kayaking, and serving her parish, Holy Name of Mary Church.
Rosemarie has three sisters: Carolyn Raffa Fazio, Marguerite Raffa, and Elissa Raffa; three nieces: Francesca Fazio Case, Victoria Fazio Capeletti and Nicole Boyles Newman; plus five grand-nephews and several cousins.
Family and friends are invited to join in celebrating Rosemarie’s life. The visitation will be held on Monday, April 6, from 2 - 4 PM and from 7 – 9 PM at Edward F Carter Funeral Home, 41 Grand Street, Croton-on-Hudson, NY. On Tuesday, April 7 at 10 AM, The Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at Holy Name of Mary Church, 110 Grand Street, Croton-on-Hudson.
In lieu of flowers and in honor of Rosemarie’s life well-lived, the family suggests contributions to the American Cancer Society.
