Sara Aldereguia Llorian, a long-time resident of Croton-on-Hudson, New York, passed away on Saturday, the 6th of May at Phelps Memorial Hospital in Sleepy Hollow, New York, after a battle with pancreatic cancer.
Born in Havana, Cuba, in 1943, Sara emigrated to the United States in 1963, where she married her high school sweetheart. She settled down in New York State and had two children, after which Sara decided to continue her education and received her Bachelor’s Degree from SUNY Purchase. She continued her studies in a Master’s program in Human Resource Management. Professionally, she worked several administrative positions before finding personal and professional satisfaction and finishing her career as a Case Worker for the County of Westchester.
Sara loved to socialize with the many friends she accumulated through all aspects of her life. She enjoyed good music and dancing throughout her life, and she was never reluctant to share her radiant smile with anyone lucky enough to enjoy a celebration with her. All who knew her will remember her sharp wit, her gregarious nature, and, of course, that smile.
Sara is survived by her husband, Sergio, her children, Sergio and Suzanne, and her grandchildren, who brought her so much joy in her later years.
