Yvonne Joan Pohlmann

Yvonne was born July 20, 1931 in Ossining, NY to the late John and Katherine (Quill) Merritt. After graduation from Ossining High School she was employed as a Secretary at The New York Central Railroad and subsequently as a Special Education Teaching Assistant at CHHS until her retirement. As a third generation Croton resident she was very involved in the community, a Member of the Croton Blood Bank at its inception, active communicant of Holy Name of Mary Church and also its first female Eucharistic Minister and President of the Altar & Rosary Society for many terms.

On May 23, 1965 she married William J. Pohlmann at St. Augustine’s Church in Ossining.

She is survived by her husband of 48 years William J. Pohlmann, two children; Michelle Delaney of Monroe Twp., NJ, John Merritt Pohlmann of Parker, CO. Three grandchildren also survive her; Sean Delaney, Katherine Delaney and Heather Delaney all of Monroe Twp., NJ. as well as her sister Sondra Radosh.

Visitation will be held on Monday, April 15, 2013 from 4-7 pm at the CHAPEL OF THE GOOD SHEPHERD, 59 Benedict Ave., Croton-on-Hudson, NY. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, April 16th also at the Chapel of the Good Shepherd. Cremation Services will be private.
