He was born November 15, 1934 in Davenport, Iowa to Arthur Wilbur and Katherine Blanche (Crawford) MacKenzie. Paul was a proud veteran of the United States Army. On July 25, 1971 he married Arline Ahlsen in Chicago.
Both of Paul’s parents were Majors in the Salvation Army and they went wherever they were called, which meant they relocated quite a bit when Paul was young but it also built Paul’s strong faith. He was a longtime member of the Richfield Christian Church in Waco, TX. Paul was a business minded man having owned both Heart of Texas Aquarium and Tanks-A-Lot, Inc. He loved his family and was incredibly generous to all those around him.
Paul is survived by his wife, Arline; his children, Kathy (Tom) Kus, Peggy (Mark Parr) Fortune, and Sandra MacKenzie; his son-in-law, Tony Loomer; his grandchildren, Ryan (Danielle) Loomer, Steven Orre, and Nathaniel Parr; his great-grandchildren, Russell and Jacob Loomer; and his sister, Ruth (Wallace) Campbell.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Patricia Loomer; his parents; and his siblings.
A graveside service will be held at 1pm on Thursday, October 9 at Crystal Lake Memorial Park, 8012 Ridgefield Rd., Crystal Lake, IL 60012.
