Barbara was born April 29, 1934 in Richmond, IN, the daughter of Harold and Louise Rowe. She attended Alabama State University, after which she worked as manager of radio stations in Florida and Ohio. It was in Ohio that she met, then married, Ken McCreary. They moved to Schaumburg and then settled in Crystal Lake.
Barbara stayed at home to raise her children David and Tina. She did some painting (she was quite good at it) and picture framing. Later, she taught water aerobics.
Barbara was preceded in death by her parents and husband. She is survived by her present husband, Don Lewis, and her two children, David McCreary and Tina Nystrom, and granddaughter Sharon Nystrom.
Visitation will be at Querhammer & Flagg Funeral Home, 500 W. Terra Cotta Ave., Crystal Lake, IL, 60014. The hours will be from 10am to Noon on Saturday, March 17. Services will be held at the funeral home following the visitation. Burial will be in Crystal Lake Memorial Park.
