Diane grew up in the cement business, Anderson Concrete Products. As a teenager, she made cement animals, painted, and sold them. She worked for her Uncle and Aunt at their picnic grove at Slocum Lake in Island Lake. The Fox River was a favorite place, canoeing with her cousin. Veterans Acres was her second home where she enjoyed fishing, skating, sledding, swimming, and summer camp. Diane loved crafts, coloring and painting. Diane graduated from Crystal Lake Central in 1967. Diane always said her only A’s in school were art & PE.
She got a job in McHenry at Admiral as a coil winder. There she met Jeanette Hocin who talked her into going to Don Roberts Beauty School in McHenry. It took her over three years to finish, going every evening after work. Diane worked in several Beauty Shops in Crystal Lake including Rosina’s, Town & Country and over 20 years at Crystal Pines, while also having a beauty shop at home. On June 30, 1973 she married Ed in Wonder Lake. For 11 years they resided in Wonder Lake before moving to Woodstock.
Diane was a member of IBEW, Pivot Point Int., Crystal Lake Garden Club, C.L. Saddle Club, and taught Sunday school at Evangelical Free Church in Crystal Lake. She loved horses had a pet raccoon.
Diane is survived by her husband Edwin of 50 years; her son, Ed (Corrie) Lintner; her daughter, Brenna (Tom) Grabowski; her grandchildren Tommy and Emma Grabowski; her sister, Janice (Terry) Hubenka; her brother Wayne Anderson and many cousins.
Preceded in death by her parents; her brother Dale Anderson; and her Aunts and Uncles.
If there ever comes a day when we can’t be together, keep me in your heart I'll stay there forever.
A celebration of life for Diane will be held at a later date.
