He was born June 10, 1930 in Chicago to Charles and Laura (Cruse) Wiechmann. On August 31, 1958 he married Diane J. Bone in Canton, Missouri. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.
He retired from Union Oil after 35 years of service. Duane was a true outdoorsman and loved spending his retirement years in Northern Wisconsin. He was an avid fisherman and enjoyed hunting.
He is survived by his children, Steve (Debra) Wiechmann and Laura (Steve) Mastandrea; his grandchildren, Ashley Mastandrea, and Morgan, Michael, Jillian, and Matthew Wiechmann; and his brother, Deon (Judith) Wiechmann.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Diane.
Visitation will be from 12pm to the 2pm funeral service on Tuesday, July 24, at Querhammer & Flagg Funeral Home, 500 W. Terra Cotta Ave., Crystal Lake.
Interment will be in Windridge Cemetery, Cary.
