

She was born February 28, 1954 in Cleveland, Ohio to John and Mary (Siddall) Moriarty. On April 10, 1999 she married David Linster in Woodstock.
Ellen worked for many years at the Crystal Lake Public Library, establishing many lasting friendships. She enjoyed quilting, bicycling, cooking and baking, and was an avid Cubs fan. She cherished every moment spent with her family but especially with her grandchildren. Another important aspect of her life was her faith. She was a member of St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church in Crystal Lake.
She is survived by her husband, Dave; her children, Tim (Bernadette) Hammes, Neil (Jenni) Rogman, and Christopher (Coryn Schmalz) Rogman; her step-children, Meredith and Anders Linster; her grandchildren, Espen and Reagan Hammes, and Jasper and Wren Rogman; her step-grandchildren, Devin and Riley; her siblings, Mary (Larry) O’Meara, John (Marcie) Moriarty, Michael (Donna) Moriarty, Patricia (Paul) Zarnikow, Jeanne (Steve) Benson, and Dan (Rachal) Moriarty; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Brian Moriarty.
Visitation will be from 3 to 8pm on Thursday, May 17, at Querhammer & Flagg Funeral Home, 500 W. Terra Cotta Ave., Crystal Lake. A memorial Mass will be celebrated at 10:30am on Friday, May 18, at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church, 451 E. Terra Cotta Ave., Crystal Lake.
Interment will be private.
