He was born Dec. 21, 1950, in Chicago to John and Dorothy (Fitzpatrick) Dittmer. He attended school in Chicago and graduated from Chicago Vocational, class of 1968.
He is survived by his sister, Barbara (John) Frasca; a niece, Jennifer (Kris) Kolberg; and a great-niece and nephew Kaiya and Kaleb Kolberg.
The visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday, July 18, at Querhammer & Flagg Funeral Home, 500 W. Terra Cotta Ave., Crystal Lake. The memorial service will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, July 19, at the funeral home.
Interment will be private.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be given in his name to the American Heart Association .
