

She was born June 3, 1932 in Hebron to Charles and Frances Dahm. During her childhood her family moved to Elgin where she began her school years at Columbia School. Several years later, with her family, she moved to Crystal Lake. She graduated from Crystal Lake Community High School, attended cosmetology school in Chicago, and later was employed with Sears.
She married Gene L. Johnson on March 14, 1970. They traveled extensively, spending winters in Florida and camping with friends in Wisconsin during the summer. She became her husband’s long time caretaker when he was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease.
She is survived by her daughter, Terry Feffer-Jarka of Brownsville, MN, her son, Jim (Akiko) Feffer of Cary, her step-sons, Steve (Trudy) Johnson of Woodstock and Dave (Phyllis) Johnson of California, her granddaughters, Michelle and Rumiko, her three step-grandchildren, and four step great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband on March 29, 2000, her parents, her sister, Shirley, her brother, George, and her step-son, Scott.
In accordance with her wishes, there will be a private memorial with burial at a later date.
