He was born December 19, 1941 in Sharon, Tennessee to Spurgel Burton and Audrey Mae (Morris) Freeman. Roy proudly served in the U.S. Army.
He enjoyed going to the Senior Center in Palatine. He was a funny man who was known for the jokes he would tell. Roy also loved spending time putting together puzzles.
He is survived by his son, Rory (Venessa) Freeman, and his children, Jacob, Joshua and Macy; his son, Don (Jan) Freeman, and his children, Danny (his son Landon), Brandon, Colton Nicholas and Brian; his daughter, Wanda (Ralph) Beard, and her child Kane; his daughter, Cheryl James, and her children, Kyle and Carly; and his loving family member, Christine Freeman.
Visitation will be from 9 to 10:30am on Saturday, December 20 at Querhammer & Flagg Funeral Home, 500 W. Terra Cotta Ave., Crystal Lake. The funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11am at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church, 451 W. Terra Cotta Ave., Crystal Lake.
Interment will be in McHenry County Memorial Park, Woodstock.
