Virginia P Shine

Crystal Lake—Virginia P. Shine, 91, of Crystal Lake passed away on Saturday, August 6, 2011, at the Fountains in Crystal Lake.

She was born December 1, 1919, in Stryker, Ohio to Joel and Florence (Juillard) Short. On November 23, 1954, she married Raymond Shine in Crystal Lake.

She was employed for many years at Jewel Home Shopping Service. She was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church and the Lutheran Women’s Missionary League (LWML). She enjoyed gardening, mowing her lawn and in general, her life on the farm.

She is survived by her children, Donna (Mark) Anderson, Raymond “Butch” (Robin) Shine Jr., and Dave Shine; her grandchildren, Elizabeth and Mary Katherine Anderson, and Andrea Shine; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond; her parents; and her brother, Russel Short.

Visitation will be from 3 to 8pm on Tuesday, August 9, at Querhammer & Flagg Funeral Home, 500 W. Terra Cotta Ave., Crystal Lake. The service will be at 10am on Wednesday, August 10, at the funeral home.

Interment will be in Crystal Lake Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Immanuel Lutheran Church or to Odyssey Hospice.
