

Bill's early years were spent on a KY farm raising chickens and various crops including tobacco. As a young man he earned an apprenticeship from Cincinnati Milling Machine while attending the University of Cincinnati part time . He entered Ohio University full time, graduating in 1960 with a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Engineering. During this time he met and married his wife of 54 years Roberta. In his working life as an engineer, he traveled to many countries including Australia, Germany, Portugal, Mexico, The Philllipines, and 34 trips to Taiwan & China, He earned multiple US Patents in the plastic industry and had his own business. Throughout his career, his family moved through Ohio, West Virginia, Indiana, and Illinois. In his later years he enjoyed spending time with his family, particularly his granddaughter Cassie, and handy-man projects around the house. He was a lifelong fan of auto racing (including as an Indy 500 engineer) . He moved to Sun City in 2002 and spent winters in Sarasota, Florida. He enjoyed socializing with friends and playing cards. Bill was an 11 year breast cancer survivor, and recently battled stroke complications. Survived by wife Roberta, daughter Laura, son Craig (Charlotte) granddaughter Cassandra, siblings Marilyn Norfolk, Bonnie Nowell (Ben) , and Gorman Meadors (BettyAnn) and numerous nieces and nephews.. A private service will be held at Querhammer & Flagg Crystal Lake at 11AM July 11th, and friends are encouraged to visit the Huntley home starting at 2PM. The family asks that in lieu of flowers, please donate to the charity of your choice or Heifer International.
