Funeral services for Acker P. “Pete” Holmes, 88, of Cullman will be at 2 p.m. Friday, July 13, 2012, at Fairview First United Methodist Church, the Revs. Richard Saylor and Richard Smith officiating, with burial in the church cemetery.
Moss-Service Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Holmes died Wednesday, July 11, at his residence. He was born Aug. 7, 1923, to Acker A. and Annie Burke Holmes. He was a sheet metal worker with Teledyne Brown.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters; and four brothers.
Survivors include his wife, Vonda Chambers Holmes of Fairview; a son, Craig Holmes of Fairview; a brother, Lowell (Jalena) Holmes of Decatur; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Hospice of Cullman County or Fairview Methodist Cemetery Fund, 1100 Wesley Ave. N., Cullman, AL 35058.
