Agnes Irene Mills

Irene was an active member of Cullman First Baptist Church. She was a wonderful mother and wife. She enjoyed spending time with family, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, working in her house, yards, playing Dominos, traveling with husband Anson, going to Alabama football games and watching them on TV.

Irene is preceded in death by her parents, Samuel and Myrtice Kelley, husbands, Fred Merritt and Anson Mills, six brothers, four sisters, 2 step-grandsons and a great-granddaughter.

Irene is survived by her children, Jerry Merritt (Joyce), Linda Pesto (Lamar), Step-children, Jim Mills (Emily), Janet Reid (Robert), Doug Mills (Kathi) and one sister Dean Gregory (Skip), one brother, Tommy Kelley (Dorothy), 4 grandchildren, 4 step-grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, 12 step-great grandchildren and a step great-great grandchild.

Visitation will be Thursday, September 30, 2021 at 11:00am, a Celebration service at 12pm in the Moss Funeral Home Chapel, Cullman with Dr. Edwin Hayes officiating. Following the service Irene will be laid to rest at the Cullman City Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Cullman First Baptist Church.
