

Graveside services for Anthony W. “Tony” Hancock of Westminster, Calif., will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, June 12, 2010, at Cullman City Cemetery, where he will be interred by his parents.
Moss-Service Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Hancock passed away Friday, June 4, at his home, following a long illness. He was born June 13, 1947. He grew up in Cullman and graduated from Auburn University before joining the U.S. Air Force. Following a long and distinguished career as an aerospace engineer, during which he received numerous awards and commendations for his contributions to space and communication technology. Lt. Col. Hancock retired from service to this country. Subsequently, he worked for a time in private industry and then became a mentor to at-risk high school students at Hollywood High School through an Air Force-sponsored mentorship program.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Oscar and Ruth Duke Hancock.
Anthony is survived by his wife of 35 years, Nancy; his beloved cousins; and many cherished friends.
In lieu of flowers, his wife requests donations be made to Space Camp General Scholarship Fund in Huntsville, Ala. (spacecamp.com).
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m Friday at the funeral home.
