Mr. Athel B. Jester

Funeral services for Athel B. Jester, 88, of Cullman will be at 2 p.m. Friday, April 2, 2010, at Bethlehem West Baptist Church, the Revs. Johnny Lake and Tim Aris officiating, with interment in Cross Roads Cemetery.

Moss-Service Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Jester died Wednesday, March 31, at Cullman Regional Medical Center. He was born Feb. 10, 1922, in Cullman to Thomas Marvin and Viola Alvis Jester. He was a school bus driver wit the Cullman County Board of Education and served on the Cross Roads Cemetery Committee for over 40 years. He was also a veteran of the U.S. Army (1942-1946), having served during World War II.

Survivors include a daughter, Linda (Richard) Kier; two sons, Bennie L. (Sheila) Jester and Terry L. (Terri) Jester; a sister, Orene Blalock; six grandchildren, Carla (John) Fussell, Alan Jester, Nora (Daniel) Campbell, Lara (Fredric) Downs, Jeremy (Traci) Jester and Bryan Holden; three great-grandchildren; and special friend, Itra Marshall.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Cross Roads Cemetery Fund, in care of People’s Bank.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the church.
