Bessie Toombes Bryant, 98, of Hanceville passed away on Monday, September 25, 2023 at her residence. She was born on December 30, 1924 in London, England. Bessie loved her family and her children were her life. She loved to knit and crochet. She enjoyed watching The Price Is Right and was still drinking her hot tea every day. She worked at New Ideal in Birmingham for 12 years.
She is survived by daughters, Barbara Green, Betty Dover and Grace (Ed) Potter; sons, Donald M. Bryant, David (Amy) Bryant and Paul (Luann) Bryant; sister, June (Barry) Watson; 12 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren and a host of other family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Bessie Toombes and her husband, Donald M. Bryant.
Funeral services will be Sunday, October 1, 2023 at 11 am at Moss Service Funeral Home; burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery in Birmingham. The family will receive friends on Sunday from 10am to 11am.
Pallbearers are Donald M. Bryant, David H. Bryant, Paul R. Bryant, Bill Hardeman, Matthew Bryant and Mark Bryant.
