Mr. Goodwin was a minister for many years and helped start several Free Will Baptist churches in the Cullman area. For 25+ years he served on the board of the Free Will Baptist Children’s Home of Alabama in Eldridge, AL. He and his wife, Stella Goodwin, were hosts of a religious TV show in Missouri and a hosted a radio show in Cullman for many years. He enjoyed fishing, playing guitar, singing and was a member of a gospel quartet.
He was preceded in death by his 1st wife and mother of his children, Virginia Goodwin, parents: Dee and Ruby Goodwin and brothers: Jack and Roy Goodwin.
He leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Stella Goodwin; daughters: Nena (Shane) Wise, Wendy (Terry) Wilhite and Sandy Goodwin; grandchildren: Brien (Angie) Brown, Sondria (Angelo) Sapia, Brandon Brown, Brent Brown, Angel (Giancarlo) Ventura, Billy (Janna) Brown, Peyton Wilhite, Madison Wilhite, Elijah Wilhite, Deanna Orear and Kristin Orear, 28 great grandchildren, brothers: Don Goodwin and Larry Goodwin and a host of nieces and nephews.
His family will receive friends on Friday, August 24, 2018 from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. The Celebration of Life for Mr. Billy Goodwin will begin at 3:00 p.m. in the chapel of Moss Service Funeral Home with burial immediately following at Valley Springs Baptist Cemetery.
