

CULLMAN — Visitation for Clifford Frederick Burke, 84, of Cullman, will be held from 6-8 p.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Cullman on Tuesday, April 22, 2014, with a Rosary at 7:30 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, April 23, 2014, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
Mr. Burke passed away on Tuesday, April 15, 2014, in Melbourne, Fla. He was born in Lindenhurst, New York, to John and Bertha Burke on February 2, 1930. He was a postman in Lindenhurst for 32 years before retiring to Cullman in 1985. Mr. Burke was a veteran of the Korean War and was very involved in the Cullman Knights of Columbus where he served as financial secretary for several years. He was also a member of the American Legion. He enjoyed sports and had a special talent in woodworking.
Mr. Burke is preceded in death by his first wife, Ann Lanigan Burke; a brother, John Burke; and a sister, Dolores Sosnicki.
He is survived by his wife, Gloria; sons: Michael (Jill), Jim (Pam McClain), and Bill (Barbara); a brother, Joe Marold; and five sisters: Pat Smith, Geraldine Rasmussen, Vivian Paddeu, Arletta Whale and Elaine Grube; step-daughter, Stacy Jankowski (James); a step-son, David Russell (Nancy); grandchildren: Christopher Burke (Martha), Erin Burke, Shaun Burke (Stephanie), Jason Burke (Milly), Jared Burke , Lanigan Burke, Patrick Burke, Alex Jankowski, Brian Jankowski, Travis Russell, Morgan Russell; and great-grandchild, Lily Ann Burke. He will be greatly missed.
