
Colonel David Carl Dahlke of Cullman Alabama passed away peacefully on December 10, 2015 at his residence at the age of 72. He was born in Cullman on May 31, 1943 to August Paul and Bertha Irene Kress Dahlke. David was a graduate of Cullman High School and attended college for 3 years. He was retired from Alabama Power Company after 35 ½ years as a Crew Methods & Training Specialist & Tool Standards Engineer. He was also a retired Colonel from The United States Army Reserves of the SEG-C, 87th MAC, after serving 39 years and 3 months. He was also a cattle farmer in Cullman County and a lifelong member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Cullman. He is preceded in death by his parents: August Paul and Bertha Irene Kress Dahlke.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, December 18, 2015 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church at 2:00 P.M. with Rev. John Bussman officiating. Interment will be in Cullman City Cemetery with military honors.
Survivors are: Wife: Nancy Miles Dahlke, Daughters: Debbie (Don) Slocumb of Cullman, Amy Victor of Pleasanton, Ca., Son: Aubrey Dahlke of Cullman, Grandchildren: Chase Slocumb and Mia Victor.
Visitation will be on Friday, December 18, 2015 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church from 12:30 P.M. until service time at 2:00 P.M.
In Lieu of flowers the family request donations be made to St. Paul’s Lutheran Church.
