

Funeral services celebrating the life of Gussie Canaday, 73, will be on Wednesday, May 15, 2013 at St. John’s Evangelical Protestant Church at 1 p.m.; interment will be in Cullman City Cemetery.
Moss Service Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Gussie was born April 19, 1940 to Pete and Lucille Wilson in Columbia, South Carolina. She moved to Cullman in 1965. She dedicated her life to raising her sons. She was known for her Southern hospitality and gift of entertaining. She will be remembered for her laugh, her determination, and her loving devotion to her family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and two sisters, Laura Bullock and Frances Dennis.
Survivors include her two sons, Eddie (Kim) Canaday and Josh (Kathy) Canaday; five grandchildren, Nick, Reed, Jordan, Harper and Jessi Canaday; two honorary daughters, Cil Porter and Jane Merrick; and a host of nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial offerings and donations be made to St. John’s Evangelical Protestant Church or to a charity of your choice.
The family will receive friends from 5 – 8 p.m., Tuesday, May 14, 2013 at Moss Service Funeral home and from 12 – 1 p.m., Wednesday, May 15, 2013 at St. John’s Church.
