Mrs. Evelyn Marion Lumpkin Singleton

Funeral Services for Mrs. Evelyn Marion Singleton, age 87 of Cullman, will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Friday, June 21, 2013 in the Moss-Service Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at Cullman City Cemetery with Dr. Ed Hayes and Rev. Jerry Cole officiating.

Mrs. Singleton passed away at Cullman Regional Medical Center on Monday, June 17, 2013. She was born to the Emmett Carden and Ida Caroline Copeland Lumpkin in Birmingham on October 16, 1925. Evelyn had taught at Good Hope and West Elementary Schools before her retirement of over 25 years, She was a member at Cullman First Baptist Church for 56 years and taught Sunday School there for 45 years.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 63 years, Harold M. Singleton; one sister, Joneal Pruett and one brother, Jimmie Lumpkin.

Survivors include three 3 – Sons – Steve (Deborah) Singleton; Craig (Beth) Singleton and Ben (Sue) Singleton; two 2 – Sisters – Helen Sandlin and Mickie Beatty; one Sister-in-Law – Margaret Lumpkin; seven 7 – Grandchildren – Tyler Singleton, Danielle Singleton, Jenny (Brian) Lawson, Mark (Allison) Singleton, Will Singleton, Benjamin Singleton II, Josh (Maria) Singleton and one Great-Grandson – Kane Lawson.

The family will receive friends for visitation at the funeral home from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 20, 2013
