Mrs. Fay Nell Thornton Lee

Funeral Services for Mrs. Fay Nell Lee, age 83, of Cullman, will be Friday, July 6, 2012, at 10:00 a.m. in the Moss-Service Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at Jones Chapel Cemetery, with Bro. Larry Duke officiating.

Mrs. Lee passed away Saturday, June 30, 2012 at her home. She was born on April 8, 1929 in Cullman to the late Joseph Wesley Thornton and Velie Mae Clark Thornton. She had attended Jones Chapel Church of God prior to moving, then Ecorse Church of God in Michigan. Fay loved to grow things in her garden, and loved her flowers. Canning and cooking were a passion and is well known in the family for making the best cornbread. Mrs. Lee was loved and she loved all her family. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Vurbon Curtis Lee; one son, Curtis Dale Lee; and several siblings.

Survivors include one Daughter – Brenda Sue (Jerry) Lee-Buckner of North Adams, MI; 2 – Sons – Raymond L. (Waynette) Lee of Shreveport, LA and Jason Ray Lee of Cullman; one Daughter-in-Law – Joan Lee of Wyandotte, MI; one Sister – Leedell Whisenhunt of Good Hope; one Brother – Melvin (Reba) Thornton of Vinemont; eight 8 – Grandchildren; thirteen 13 – Great-Grandchildren; two 2 – Great-Great-Grandchildren.

The family will receive friends at the Funeral Home on Thursday, July 5, 2012, from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m.
