

Services for Fred Ervin (Fritz) Teichmiller, 88, of Cullman will be Sunday, June 19 at 3 PM at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church. The body will lie in state from 2 – 3 PM. Rev. Warren Ruland will officiate.
Interment will follow in Cullman City Cemetery. Moss Service Funeral Home is directing.
Mr. Teichmiller died Thursday, June 16 at Cullman Regional Medical Center. He was born July 8, 1922 to the late August Herman Teichmiller and Ola Gertrude King. He was predeceased by his loving wife of 51 years, Margaret LaFaye Graham Teichmiller. He was retired from the North Alabama Horticulture Research Center. Fritz was an ardent farmer and shared the abundance of his garden with many in the community.
Mr. Teichmiller was a proud veteran who served in the South Pacific during World War II. He served as a Carpenter’s Mate Second Class aboard the USS Nashville. He was honorably discharged from the United States Navy on October 2, 1945.
He is survived by two sons, Gery T. Teichmiller and his wife Richie Teichmiller of Cullman, Tim M. Teichmiller and his wife Linda Teichmiller of Vancleave, MS, one daughter, Paulette Teichmiller Davis of Birmingham, AL, one brother, Robert A. Teichmiller of Hanceville, AL, one sister, Esther M. Messersmith of Cullman, four grandsons, Roy Teichmiller and his wife Raquel Teichmiller of Birmingham, AL, Wesley Teichmiller and his wife Candice Teichmiller of Mobile, AL, Derek Teichmiller of Vancleave, MS, Michael Davis of Hoover, two great-grandchildren, Quinn and Kaya Teichmiller of Birmingham, AL, and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, and beloved friends. He met daily with dear friends for breakfast over the last ten years.
Fritz was a life-long member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church where he served as an Elder, an usher, was an active member of the Men’s Saturday Bible Class, the “Jolly Sixties” fellowship group, and the Sunday afternoon Bible study group. He also served for several years as Scout Master for St. Paul’s Boy Scout Troop 34.
Visitation will be from 6 to 9 PM at Moss Service Funeral Home on Saturday, June 18.
The family requests that memorials be given to St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, 513 Fourth Avenue South East, Cullman, AL 35055.
