

Mrs. Grace M. Walsh of Cullman Alabama passed away on Monday January 10, 2011 at Woodland Village Health Care Center at the age of 87. Grace was born on March 23, 1923 in Elba Alabama to Joseph J. and Mamie Rushing Moore. Grace was a school teacher and her teaching career spanned forty years, the last 25 of which was spent teaching Art History at Jefferson State Community College. After her retirement in 1988, Grace worked for five years as a volunteer staff assistant at the Birmingham Museum of Art. From a field of 300 nominees, the Museum, in 1998 honored Grace with the Volunteer of the Year Award. In 2000 Grace and her husband Bill moved to Cullman and in 2008 Grace was nominated for The Unsung Heroes Award for the work she did at her church’s Caring Center Ministry. Grace and her husband were active members of Northbrook Baptist Church. She is preceded in death by: Parents, Husband of 64 years: William L. Walsh Jr., 5 Sisters: Louise Clark, Kitty Johnson, Irene Thommen, Erie Crook and Gladys Webb, 2 Brothers: Jack Moore and Mack Moore. Funeral services will be held on Friday January 14, 2011 at 2:00 P.M. at Seventh Street Baptist Church in Cullman Alabama with Dorothy Frady officiating. Mrs. Walsh will lie in state at the church from 1 P.M. until 2 P.M. Interment will be in Greenwood and Serenity Cemetery in Montgomery Alabama on Tuesday January 18, 2011 at 12:00 Noon. She is survived by: 2 Sisters: Virginia Head of Houston, Texas and Jeanne Weaver of Birmingham, Alabama, 1 Brother: Glen Moore of Nashville Tn., a host of nieces and nephews. Visitation will be on Thursday January 13, 2011 at Moss Service Funeral Home in Cullman, Alabama from 5:30P.M. until 9:00 P.M.
