Janice was born in Albany, GA August 10, 1946. She married Jimmy Drake, Sr. and moved to Cullman, where she lived and raised her three children. She was the daughter of William and Annie Thompson. Janise was a tiny little spit fire. When her mind was made up there was no changing it. The Pinnacle Bridge at Vinemont that many school buses traveled daily to Vinemont School was a wooden bridge. She was concerned for the safety of the children (especially her three children). She made up her mind that the bridge was to be replaced. She set out with petitions, making calls to various powers that be. Her goal was accomplished; the wooden bridge was replaced. Janice had many struggles through her life, but the love for her family never wavered.
She was preceded in death by her father and mother, and infant daughter. She is survived by: daughter, Jackie(Mike) Cadle; two sons, Jimmy (Amy) Drake, Jr., Chris Drake; one sister, Ann Chapman; brother, Bill (Betty) Thompson; grandchildren, Jennifer (Ely) Jones, Zack (Elizabeth) Cadle, Casey (Dylan) Jones, Dawson Drake, Isaac Drake, Siddalee Drake, Asher Drake, Teneasha (Patrick) Flanigan, Brittney Drake; and 5 great grandchildren.
