Jerry Dale Burgess

Jerry is survived by his wife of 50 years Angela Burgess; daughters Kristie (Keith) Bush, Crystal (Heath) Sparks; sisters Lillie Tucker, Brenda (Charlie) Duke, Rita (Larry) Aker, and Patsy (Tim) Klein; brothers Jessie Burgess, Bobby Burgess, Donald (Elaine) Burgess, Joe (Linda) Burgess, and David (Vicki) Burgess; and grandchildren Gabriel, Peyton and Eli Burgess, Gavin and Wakely Bush, and Addy and Cooper Sparks. Jerry is preceded in death by his son Brian Heath Burgess; grandson Austin Gage Burgess; parents Grady and Alice Burgess; sisters Barbara Sandlin and Vera Campbell; and brothers Clarence Burgess and Rayburn Burgess.

Jerry had been restoring old cars since he was a teenager. He was the proud owner of Burgess Body Shop for over 40 years. He enjoyed making his own wine and spending time listening to or playing guitar. He rarely went a day without music. Jerry was a devoted Alabama football fan. Above all, he cherished his family and friends. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

A celebration of life funeral service will be held Thursday December 4, 2025 at 2:00 PM in the Moss Service Funeral Home chapel. The family will receive friends for a visitation from 12:00 PM until the service time at 2:00 PM with burial to follow at Cullman City Cemetery. James Fields Jr., Danny Buchanan and Tim Klein officiating. Keith Bush, Heath Sparks, Gavin Bush, Eli Burgess, Cooper Sparks, Will Buchanan and Frankie Basinger Jr. will serve as pallbearers.
